This course gives you the chance to use your IT Service Manager certification (second version) as the base for achieving the ITIL® Expert certificate – the highest level of certification in the ITIL® v3.

During these 5 days, you will expand your experience and knowledge of ITIL® v2 projects and courses, and consequently become well-grounded in ITIL® version 3. As a result, you will be perfectly equipped to pass the newly created ITIL® Expert certificate, proving the extent of your understanding of ITIL® v3.

You will discover the ITIL® v3 terminology and gain a detailed insight into the structure and content of the 5 ITIL® v3 books. Alongside the significance and structure of the Service Lifecycle concepts, you will also gain specific advice on how to re-structure your IT organisation to conform to ITIL® v3.

Contents:

  • Implementation of IT Service Management
  • Importance and structure of the Service Lifecycle
  • Fundamental principles and models of ITIL® v3
  • Generic concepts of the new ITIL® version
  • Implementation of the new processes, roles and functions within ITIL® v3
  • Technology and architecture – essential for smooth implementation
  • The ITIL® v3 qualification scheme

The certification takes place at the end of the seminar and comprises a multiple-choice examination with 20 questions. A total of 16 out of the 20 questions (80%) must be answered correctly in less than 90 minutes. You will be awarded 5 credits upon successful completion of the examination.

Learning objectives:

  • You will develop an understanding of how the new ITIL® v3 differs and learn about the Service Lifecycle concept.
  • You will be able to plan, design and manage an IT organisation according to ITIL® v3.
  • You will have a solid understanding of the resources and processes that are required for a successful implementation.
  • You will know how to introduce and develop processes systematically by using the ITIL® approach.
  • Passing the examination means that you will hold the highest level of certification after ITIL® v3, the Expert certificate, which is a written record of your expertise in ITIL® v3 subject matter.

Prerequisites:

Manager’s certificate in ITIL® v2 IT Service Management

Target group:

IT Consultants, Managers and Project Managers, who are in charge of introduction and implementing ITIL® processes, holders of the ITIL® v2 Manager’s Certificate in IT Service Management
